Hollywood is a Rape Industry

Where There is Water, There Are Dangers

Money is our water. We need it to survive. Every job is a riverbank. As in nature In the eerie dance between predator and prey, the riverbank becomes a stage for a sinister survival game. The unsuspecting gazelle approaches the water’s edge, driven by thirst, unaware of the lurking danger. But to the patient crocodile, the riverbank is not merely a watering hole; it’s a hunting ground where the scent of vulnerability hangs thick in the air. In a chilling parallel, industries, too, have their twisted allure. Just as Sunday School beckons the devout and the benevolent to nurture young minds and spirits, it casts a shadowy invitation to those with darker intentions who want unsupervised access to children. Behind the facade of innocence lies a realm where predators lurk, preying on the innocent with calculated precision. The church becomes a haven for predators, drawn by the promise of easy prey and the veil of impunity that shrouds their crimes because to confront the predator would be to encounter God himself and in a faith that praises Abraham for sacrificing his only child, what better place to disguise yourself as a man of god, to align yourself with him. To challenge a priest is to challenge God himself essentially, and from the parent’s perspective, what do you do when God molests your child? What can you do?

The priesthood is a job, and all jobs attract benevolence and malevolence. We see this in police work, healthcare, and the service industry. Every watering hole attracts predators, and Hollywood is no different.

If You Want to Rape People, You Go Where the Raping is Good

Hollywood attracts dreamers, people who aren’t satisfied with how things are and who envision something better and want the rest of us to understand. They’re people who are so passionate about giving an audience a profound emotional experience that they sacrifice everything just for the possibility of entertainment. People who have already sacrificed so much for so little, who put their goal above their financial and often physical health, make the perfect rape victim, both figuratively and literally.

When a person is so driven, so single-minded, in pursuit of their dreams, they will sacrifice anything just to make it, which includes being raped, sometimes repeatedly, and keeping their mouth shut because it means losing everything. Sure, they had a choice, in the same way, slaves had a choice, be a slave or torture and kill and rape you, your wives, daughters, sons, etc. The people who control access to this dream know that it is just as precious, and they use it to force themselves on you, and when they’re done, they throw you out in the trash.

There are hundreds of stories about men, women, and children having to have sex for a job. You can look at dozens of careers, notably Dave Chapelle and Prince. Chapelle, who created one of the most successful shows ever, was used and abused; they took everything from him, called him crazy, and suggested he was using crack. Prince lost his very name and all of the music he created. They both eventually won, but how many other artists who didn’t achieve that fame got used up and spit out? Perhaps you or someone you know. I know several women like this whose attackers are still at large because to speak up would be career suicide. They don’t have legions of devoted fans or millions of dollars to survive it like Prince and Chapelle did.

They don’t even do it in the shadows anymore. How can you want to work for people who are okay with you starving?

Streaming Service Payouts to Top Artists

Let’s take a look at some approximate figures:

  1. Spotify: On average, Spotify pays artists between $0.003 and $0.005 per stream. While this may seem low, it can add up significantly for top artists with millions of streams.
  2. Apple Music: Apple Music tends to pay slightly higher rates than Spotify, averaging around $0.006 to $0.008 per stream.
  3. Amazon Music: Like Apple Music, Amazon Music pays artists around $0.006 to $0.008 per stream.

Comparison to TV Commercial Costs

On the other side of the entertainment spectrum, traditional television advertising is fair but it’s dying.

Here are some rough estimates:

  1. Popular Shows: The cost of a 30-second commercial spot during prime time on a popular network like ABC, NBC, or CBS can range from $100,000 to several hundred thousand dollars. The price depends on the show’s viewership ratings, time slot, and audience demographics.
  2. Sporting Events: Advertising during major sporting events like the Super Bowl can be astronomically expensive. A 30-second Super Bowl commercial can cost over $5 million or more. However, even regular-season games for popular sports like the NFL, NBA, or MLB can command significant advertising fees, ranging from hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars.

Comparative Analysis

A Super Bowl ad costs $7 million for 30 seconds and reaches approximately 123.7 million viewers. Cristiano Ronaldo has 623 million Instagram followers and makes 3.23 million dollars per Instagram post. That seems like a lot until you realize his post reaches 5x as many as a Super Bowl commercial and pays half. Corporations view artists as commodities. They don’t make art better. They often make it worse. They control the platforms. They are predators who take and don’t give anything in return. It’s time for artists to become their bosses. They wise up, and instead of trying to have millions of fans and make millions of dollars, aim small and grow conservatively. Try to get one person to pay $5 to see you, then do that 1,000 times. Make art for hundreds of people instead of millions. We must return to community-based art, where every city has its creatives and tells local stories. The closer we are to the art, the better it is. It’s time to realize that the facade of glamour and bright lights of Hollywood is just the drug in our drink. We don’t need them and worse, it’s dangerous to be around people who are trying to rape you.
